The appreciation was also stated by Jakarta City Council Commission B member, Dwi Rio Sambodo. Providing water purifiers in public places helps people to consume non-commercial water.
"Residents are given the option to consume drinking water. Not only commercial, but also non-commercial," Dwi stated.
He requested that Perumda PAM Jaya target to place water purifiers in 1,000 points in three months, both in schools and agencies. This effort is believed to be able to provide education to the public regarding the importance of consuming water and its effects on health.
"This can also involve commercial aspects. It can involve sponsors or partners. Because with many points, it becomes a commercial market space," he added.
Perumda PAM Jaya, Arief Nasrudin supported the suggestion of Commission B members. The placement of water purifiers in various locations is considered as an effort to reduce non-revenue water.
"It's go green and reduce plastic waste. It also related with resident's health. Jakarta residents rarely drink water because they might buy it," he said.
Arief planned to place more water purifiers in many areas. Nowadays, water purifier placement targets commercial areas such as hospital, hotels, and apartments.
